Green 747-400
Boeing Plant, Everett Washington(1990)
I visited the Boeing plant in 1990 and took this composite shot from the gallery in the assembly building. I returned 10 years later and was VERY disappointed to learn that photography was no longer allowed! The green coloring is actually a layer of paint that is applied to protect the surface of the aircraft during assembly. It is removed by spraying on a solvent just prior to painting the aircraft.
