Bennachie
After Inverurie it was time for the event that inspired the trip to Scotland: Spreading Dad/Grandfather's ashes on Bennachie.
We climbed Bennachie on a beautiful spring afternoon. We took the "Back O' Bennachie" Trail, which ascended first through woods then out in the open. Of course Jay and Josh raced ahead and reached Little Oxen Craig long before anyone else. Scott and I hiked together with Amanda not far behind. Grandmother and Auntie Al brought up the rear. We assembled at Little Oxen Craig, a small quarry at the summit of one of Bennachie's sub peaks. There we talked and explored, and then spread Grandfathers ashes within site of where he was born. The men in the party then gave the ladies a head start down the mountain and located a geocache. Once back in the parking lot Jay got a chance to drive on the wrong side of the road. There were no injuries.
With the primary trip objective complete it was on to Inverness for the night!
