The Floating Market, Bangkok

We took a longtail boat through a series of canals to a floating market. (Above) We passed many houses on the canals, and even a few shops! (Below) In this area on Thailand the canals serve as roads.

The shops had many items for sale, including silk and other fabrics. We watched a man operate a loom to make material.

Quite a few shops sold insects displayed in cases. We were very interested in them, but decided that buying one would encourage the capture of these creatures, which didn't seem like a good idea.
