Staff travel.

We left Buckingham Palace for the hotel, grabbed our baggage and headed for the airport. One of the benefits of being an airline employee, in fact the benefit that makes our trip possible, is the fact that we can travel at greatly reduce rates. The "price" for this savings is the fact that we travel space available. If the plane fills up with paying passengers, we stay behind. Fortunately, BA (British Airways) has a Staff Travel Office set up for airline employees. Rather than fight one's way to a gate only to find an unsympathetic agent, then rush off to the next gate when the first flight left full, one simply checks in at the Staff travel desk and waits. And waits. And waits. We just had to find ways to entertain ourselves. We had dinner, made friends with a BA couple traveling to Hong Kong with their son, spun tops, read books and played gameboys. And waited... And waited... And finally got on!!!!!
