Driving home on a winter night in March I spied the start of what looked to be a brilliant display of northern lights. I ran into my apartment, grabbed my camera, then got back in the car to search for some dark skies north of town. I was not disappointed when I found such a spot, as more than half the celestial dome was covered by green and red pillars! This is a 30 second handheld exposure.
